Police & Nurses wins top credit union award

For the second year in a row, Police & Nurses Credit Society has won the Australian Banking & Finance magazine's "Best Credit Union" award.

Police & Nurses is WA's largest home-grown and locally run financial institution, and the fourth largest credit union in Australia, by measure of total assets under management.

The award was presented to Police & Nurses CEO, Mr Fred Huis and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Eric Smith, at a ceremony held in Sydney last night (Thursday, 8 May).

Australian Banking & Finance (ABF) is the premier national trade magazine for the banking and finance industry in Australia. Each year the ABF runs an awards program, where their readers nominate and vote on awards in a number of different categories. As such, winning this award means that for the past two years Police & Nurses has been recognised by its peers in the banking and finance industry as an outstanding organization.

Mr Fred Huis, CEO of Police & Nurses, said "Considering there are some 139 credit societies and credit unions operating throughout Australia, it is a great achievement that we have been able to win this award for the past two years."

"I would like to thank our members, as without their support Police & Nurses would not have achieved the success that we enjoy today. "

In a member satisfaction survey (conducted independently in November 2007 by Wallis Consulting Group) it was found that 94% of Police & Nurses members were either satisfied or extremely satisfied with their Police & Nurses banking relationship. This satisfaction score compares favourably to research conducted by AC Nielsen in June 2007, which showed that the average percentage of major bank customers who were either very or quite satisfied was 64%.

Police & Nurses Credit Society is a mutual, member based organization. All profits are reinvested into the Society for the benefit of its members through competitive interest rates and better products and services.
