THE City of Perth proposal to sink all the railway lines in Northbridge is now available to the public in the recently launched document, Realising a New Vision for Perth.
The publication reveals the city’s plans to join Northbridge and Perth with attractive promenades and develop new civic buildings, entertainment venues, cafes and inner-city residences. The plans were developed by the City of Perth Railway Committee, which drew membership from elected members of the council and private individuals.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan received a copy of the document from Lord Mayor Peter Natrass last week.
“The city now looks forward to working with the Government so that a golden opportunity to turn our vision into reality is not missed,” Dr Natrass said.
The city plans to conduct a more thorough analysis of project costings and funding options, which could include some commercial development of the site.
