Pioneer goes back to the future with debt collection in Malaysia

Perth-based debt collection player Pioneer Credit Management Services Pty Ltd has returned to Malaysia, buying the Kuala Lumpur branch of the ill-fated national firm RMG Ltd.

The Malaysian business is the same operation that RMG took over as part of its purchase of Pioneer in 2001 to extend its reach to Western Australia.

However, RMG failed to find success as a listed group and Pioneer vendor Keith John quit the company to restart Pioneer.

Pioneer Credit Management Services Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Malaysian
companies that formed the Asian businesses of RMG Limited ('RMG').
Pioneer Credit (Malaysia) was formed in 1999 by Keith R. John and Mr Santhi Santhirasegaran and was
originally sold to RMG in 2001. Mr Santhi has been Managing Director of Pioneer Credit (Malaysia)
since inception and continues in that role while also holding a significant equity stake in the venture.
Pioneer Credit (Malaysia) employs over 50 full time personnel and has offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang
and Johor Bahru. Management are currently evaluating opportunities to open additional offices
throughout Malaysia.
The acquisition of Pioneer Credit (Malaysia) is an important step in building the Asian Regional
Network of the Pioneer Credit Group and in supporting our commitment to Australasian and
