Belmont-based Pindan has been awarded an $18 million state government building contract in Carnarvon, while Bunbury-based Perkins Builders has received an $8 million government contract.

Belmont-based Pindan has been awarded an $18 million state government building contract in Carnarvon, while Bunbury-based Perkins Builders has received an $8 million government contract.

The Pindan contract is for stage 3 of Carnarvon Community College, which includes a new secondary education facility to be constructed on the existing primary school site and will form a K-12 community college.

Perkins has been selected to complete the redevelopment of the Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury with works expected begin in February and be completed by November.

Works will comprise new buildings and refurbishment of existing buildings, a new cafeteria, offices, aquariums and a new interpretive centre.

Meanwhile construction contractor Coleman Rail has won an $8 million state government contract for replacement of the Ashton Avenue rail bridge in Claremont.

The work includes the demolition of the existing bridge and construction of a new composite bridge.

WBHO Infrastructure was awarded a $4.7 million contract with Main Roads for works on Toodyay Road, Roland Road and O’Brien Road in Gidgegannup.
