PERTH’S aussiehome.com real estate site plans to target Eastern States markets after its first year operating in Perth.
The site shows real estate and other local information on interactive maps.
Recording more than 4000 page hits per day, it claims to be the most looked-at real estate site in WA, running neck and neck with REIWA.
It even has virtual tours of suburbs, homes, and schools.
Initially the site listed only real estate properties in the Western suburbs, but it soon grew over the year to successfully involve other suburbs around Perth and in doing so defied the gloom and doom prophecies relating to dot.com businesses.
The aussiehome.com site, which won the Yellow Pages Asia-Pacific IT&T Award 2000 for E-Commerce, now lists private schools, city projects and restaurants.
But its core business is real estate and it lists 3000 properties from 70 agents.
The company lists its Web site address on the foot of participating real estate agents’ signs so that purchasers driving through the area can check out the photographs and pricing on the web site before contacting the agent for a personal tour.
Or they can browse the site using a site map to find and then visit the property before calling the estate agent.
“It saves everyone a lot of time and energy,” marketing manager Mike Pagan said.
