Perth pushed

MOVES by the Property Council for the centre of Perth to be recognised as a key economic powerhouse in the State economy have borne fruit.

Property Council nominee Gerald Major was appointed to the industry seat on the Central Planning Committee by Planning Minister Graham Kierath in preference to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry nomination.

The Property Council has also set up a joint venture with the City of Perth to create an Economic Develop-ment Plan for the City.

The Property Council has been advocating the importance of capital cities since April last year when the Council launched Capital City Co-ordination for the 21st Century.
