Perth home prices fall again

Perth was one of only two capital cities to post a fall in home prices in the June quarter, while the national average rose 4.7 per cent.

According to Australian Bureau of Statistics data, the residential property price index for Perth fell 0.9 per cent in the June quarter, following a 0.1 per cent fall in the March quarter, and a flat result in the December 2014 quarter.

The index fell 1.2 per cent through the year to June in Perth.

Perth and Darwin were the only cities to post a fall in prices in the June quarter and in the year to June. 

On a national scale, the residential property price index was up 9.8 per cent in the year to June.

Sydney's annual price growth was twice as fast as the next best city, Melbourne, and has enjoyed double-digit growth since the September quarter of 2013.
