Perth company sues Landau for $2.5m

Local businessman Peter Landau will be subjected to more court action after China-controlled Nkwe Platinum filed a $2.5 million law suit in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Perth-based Nkwe told the market today it had filed a writ of summons in the Supreme Court against Mr Landau, a former executive director of the business, seeking (among other things) recovery of $2.5 million.

“The writ of summons concerns a breach of a written agreement in relation to the acquisition of an interest in a prospective platinum mining tenement known as Hoepakrantz 291 KT located in the eastern limb of the Bushvelt complex in the Republic of South Africa,” Nkwe said in a statement.

“The company will update the market on the proceedings as and when required.”

Mr Landau is already subject to Federal Court proceedings, initiated by Citation Resources, another company of which he was formerly a director.

The proceedings relate to the accounting for certain monies.

Mr Landau also quit as a director of Black Mountian Resources in April this year.

That caught the attention of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission over fund raising activities.

He was also a senior figure at West Perth-based coal mining firm Continental Coal, which went into liquidation in April.
