Perkins Builders has won a $61.7 million contract to develop a new courthouse and police complex in Armadale, as well as the $37.5 million construction contract for Capecare Dunsborough.
Bunbury-based Perkins beat out six other submissions to secure the Armadale contract, which will run until September 2021.
The site of the development is bound by Third Road, South Western Highway and Thomas Street, just behind Armadale Shopping City.
The builder has opened tenders for sub-contractors, which will close on October 10.
The courthouse will have five courtrooms and pre-trial conference room, while the police complex will create space for 263 police officers in addition to the existing Armadale station's force of 80.
In February 2018, the Department of Justice said the development would cost $86 million in total.
In August 2017, West Perth firm Peter Hunt Architect won a $2.2 million contract to design the courthouse and police complex.
The site for the complex was purchased for $4.9 million in August 2016 by the Liberal-National government.
Perkins also announced it secured the building contract for Capecare Dunsborough, which will be the first aged care facility for the rapidly-growing Dunsborough community.
Construction is expected to start within weeks and the project will comprise an 80-bed residential care facility for people with high physical needs in a dementia-enabling environment, palliative care, 21 independent living apartments with complimentary and allied health services, new premises for the Dunsborough Country Women’s Association, a playground, café and landscaped gardens.
The Capecare project will employ approximately 530 people during the construction phase, and it is set to be completed in mid 2021.
Perkins managing director Dan Perkins said that the company was honoured to be chosen as the construction partner to deliver the new Capecare Dunsborough.
“Perkins Builders is passionate about supporting investment in the south west," Mr Perkins said.
"We’re excited to be delivering this project for Capecare and to play our part in realising the benefits this great facility will deliver to the local community in Dunsborough and surrounding areas.”
Capecare Dunsborough was designed by Gary Batt & Associates Architects.
