Nicole Lockwood appointed chair of MNG
Nicole Lockwood has been appointed chair of surveying company MNG, after joining the board as a non-executive director in November last year. Ms Lockwood is currently owner and principal of Lockwood Advisory. She was previously a director at KPMG and is a former chair of the Pilbara Development Commission and former president of the Shire of Roeburne (now City of Karratha). Ms Lockwood currently serves on the boards of Tourism WA, the Water Corporation, and the Freight and Logistics Council of WA
Tony Perrin, the new President of Property Council WA
The Property Council of WA has appointed Tony Perrin president for the next two years. Mr Perrin joined Frasers Property Group in 2010 as business and development manager, and is currently general manager, residential WA. He has 25 years’ experience in residential, mixed use, retail, commercial and industrial developments. Mr Perrin previously worked for Dubai developer Nakheel for almost three years as a development director on the Palm Jebel Ali and Waterfront projects. Prior to that, he held Perth and Sydney-based business development and development manager roles with Frasers’ previous incarnation Australand Property Group. Mr Perrin replaces Chris Palandri, who is stepping down at the end of his two-year term.
Two key appointments for Strategen Environmental
WA-based environmental consultancy Strategen Environmental has appointed Danny Cloghan as chair and Brad Geatches non-executive director. Mr Cloghan is a former commissioner of Fair Work Australia, and was chief of staff to the former Minister for the Environment, Attorney General and Minister for Health, Jim McGinty. Mr Geatches is the former chief executive of Perth Airport.
WA Chamber Chair appointed to National Gallery
Chamber of Arts and Culture WA chair Helen Cook has been appointed to the Council of the National Gallery of Australia. Ms Cook, a former chair of the Art Gallery of WA, also sits on the boards of Cruthers Art Foundation and the Major Performing Arts Panel of the Australia Council. Ms Cook's involvement in the arts has also included board positions at Perth Theatre Trust and the Friends of the Festival Council.
New Executive Director for MercyCare
MercyCare has appointed Rebecca Tomkinson as executive director, aged care services. Ms Tomkinson joins MercyCare after one and a half years as chief operating officer of Baptistcare, which she joined in late 2014 after five years with Bankwest. She also had prior experience in a Canberra-based role as director, government relations of UnitingCare West.
Tahnee Watson joins Taylor Smart Lawyers & Notaries
Tahnee Watson has joined Taylor Smart Lawyers and Notaries as lawyer in their litigation team. Ms Watson has experience in practice areas including property, contract, criminal and litigation with firms Eastwood Sweeney Law, MJ McPhee Barrister, Kott Gunning Lawyers, and AJ Aristei.
Hall & Wilcox gets Groves
Kylie Groves has joined Hall & Wilcox as partner, leaving Squire Patton Boggs. Ms Groves brings with her a team of fellow employment lawyers – special counsel Felicity Clarke, senior associate Jillian Howard and lawyer Emily Tan.
BGC Contracting appoints new Chief Operating Officer for mining
BGC Contracting has appointed Andrew Taplin as chief operating officer, mining. Mr Taplin replaces Martin Spibey, who has retired from the role after almost 12 years with BGC. Mr Taplin has over 20 years’ experience in the mining industry and was most recently president of Rio Tinto’s Resolution Copper development in Arizona, USA.
Executive Education Alliance, a joint venture between UWA Business School and the Australian Institute of Management WA, has appointed Grace Letizia as associate director, client relationships. Ms Letizia was previously partnerships executive at Nexia International. She also has past experience in business development roles in the Perth offices of Perpetual and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
