Hames Sharley has appointed Stephen Moorcroft as a principal in its Western Australian workplace team. Mr Moorcroft joins the firm after four years with Hassell, where he was a senior associate. His prior experience also includes a Sydney-based role as an associate director at Savills and 14 years with various practices in the UK.
Mannkal Economic Education Foundation has appointed Lyndon Rowe a director. Mr Rowe is a director of Perth Airport, and a former chair of Synergy and the WA Economic Regulation Authority. He served as chief executive of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia from 1990 to 2004. John Hyde recently retired from the Mannkal board.
Pritchard Francis subsidiary Scope Australia has appointed Alan Langley executive manager. Mr Langley was recently engineering manager at the Ambatovy nickel-cobalt project in Madagascar. He has 33 years of mining and process engineering experience and served in management roles with companies including Worley Parsons, Amec Minproc, BHP Ravensthorpe Nickel, and Anaconda Nickel’s Murrin Murrin project.
SunRice has nominated Andrew Crane as external director to be approved by shareholders at the company’s AGM in September. In the interim, he will serve as a consultant to the business. Dr Crane was chief executive of CBH Group from 2009 to 2017. Earlier this year, he was appointed a director of RACWA Holdings. He has been a member of Curtin University’s council since 2015. Dr Crane holds a PhD in agricultural science from the University of Portsmouth.
Lavan has appointed Luke O'Callaghan an energy and infrastructure partner in the firm’s corporate services practice. Mr O'Callaghan was previously special counsel, energy and resources at HFW.
Mills Oakley has promoted Daniel White and Andrew Crean to partner. In addition, the firm appointed Wendy Glasser and Sam Hagdorn senior associates. Mr White joined the company in 2016 as special counsel, workplace relations, employment and safety after practising in the field with Norton Rose Fulbright and DLA Piper. Mr Crean, previously special counsel in the corporate advisory team, also joined the firm in 2016 after nine years with DLA Piper. Ms Glasser specialises in insurance law, while Mr Hagdorn advises on commercial disputes.
Pinsent Masons partner Katie Williams, who has led the firm’s Aberdeen office for over a year, is set to relocate to the Perth office. An employment lawyer with experience advising the energy and maritime sectors, Ms Williams joined Pinsent Masons as a partner in 2014. In December 2016, the company announced her as the first female head of its Aberdeen office.
ABN Group mortgage broking subsidiary Resolve Finance has appointed Clara Sciarretta state manager for Western Australia. Ms Sciarretta has two decades of experience in the finance sector and was most recently business development executive at Loan Market. She has also held past business development manager roles for AFG and Citibank.
Asterisk Information Security has appointed Matt Wilkinson an infrastructure security consultant. Mr Wilkinson has held management-level roles in IT security operations with companies including Dimension Data, Triskele Labs, and Macquarie Telecom. He has also served in ICT support and information security roles with the Royal Australian Navy and the Department of Defence.
