Urquhart promoted at Curtin
Curtin University has appointed Tim Urquhart as director, properties, facilities and development. Mr Urquhart was previously general manager, greater Curtin. Prior to joining the university at the end of 2015 he spent 15 years with LendLease, including serving as development director of the 2012 London Olympic village.
New resources head at Pritchard Francis
Pritchard Francis has appointed Harish Tantry as engineering director, resources. Mr Tantry is principal consultant, engineering management at Cranberg Consultants. He was previously engineering manager, Roy Hill Package 1 for Samsung C&T. He has worked in the resources sector for 28 years, with senior roles at Sinclair Knight Merz, Aecom, and GRD Minproc.
Walsh in new role at HBF
Western Power executive manager, customer and corporate services Simon Walsh has been appointed general manager, strategy and ventures at HBF. Mr Walsh joined Western Power in 2013, after previous roles as chief information officer at P&N Bank, group general manager for Summit Homes Group, and managing director of Bankwest.
Taylor heads WRLC
Matt Taylor has replaced John McMath as the chief executive of the Western Rock Lobster Council. Mr Taylor will commence his role on July 10. His experience in aquaculture includes completing a degree in aquaculture and seafood science with honours from Curtin University and working as a commercial fisherman. Mr Taylor was the member for Bateman and parliamentary secretary for the Minister for State Development; Transport; and Innovation.
Menzies joins SMG
Stephenson Mansell Group has appointed Felicity Menzies as chief executive, Australia and equity partner. Ms Menzies is the founder of Culture Plus, an international organisational consultancy, which has now been acquired by Stephenson Mansell. Ms Menzies past experience includes stints at KPMG in the UK, UBS Investment Bank, Russel Investments and Westpac Group.
New WAMSI GM
Luke Twomey will step down as BMT Oceanica director after almost 10 years to take on the role of general manager at the Western Australian Marine Science Institution. Dr Twomey is a former principal scientist at Swan River Trust. Caroline Ochieng-Erftemeijer has been appointed as research manager of WAMSI. Dr Ochieng-Erftemeijer has a wide range of international experience including Wetlands International-Thailand Programme project officer, World Conservation Union (Tanzania) environmental consultant and project coordinator at Jackson Estuarine Laboratory in the USA.
Allens promotions
International law firm Allens has promoted a group of lawyers across its PNG and Australian offices. Emma Cundale and Danica Goodbody have received senior associate positions at Allens’ Perth Branch and will take on these roles from July 1. Ms Cundale started at Allens in 2013. Ms Goodbody joined Allens as an associate last year after five years with Jackson McDonald.
Sarah Jones has been appointed as senior associate at O’Sullivan Davies. Ms Jones joined O’Sullivan Davies in 2013, and was promoted to associate in 2015. Genevieve Smit and Ryan van der Merwe have been appointed associates.
