Herbert Smith Freehills has promoted Anna Creegan to partner in its Perth employment, industrial relations and safety team. Ms Creegan first joined HSF in 2006, and returned to the firm in 2015 after four years with Linklaters in London.
The state government has appointed John Vaughan a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. Mr Vaughan will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Justice Peter Martino. Mr Vaughan entered practice in 1992 and most recently served as a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2013.
Accounting firm BDO has appointed Perth-based chairman Sherif Andrawes as its global natural resources leader, replacing Charles Dewhurst from the company’s US arm, after 12 years in the role. Mr Andrawes remains chairman of the Western Australian division of the business, a role he has held since 2009. He has been with the company since 1987, originally in London before moving to Perth in 1997.
Amana Living has appointed Jacob Hollenberg general manager, property and projects. Mr Hollenberg takes over from Rita Sheridan in the role. He was previously the general manager, property development at Bethanie. Mr Hollenberg joined Bethanie as development coordinator in 2010, following more than three years as a strategic planner at the City of Stirling.
Rocky Bay has hired Jevon Twynham as corporate technology manager and Tracy Rowling as marketing manager. Mr Twynham joins Rocky Bay from Brightwater where he was IT application services manager for 12 years. Ms Rowling leaves a corresponding role as St Ives Group’s general marketing manager.
Engineering advisory Xodus has promoted Simon Allison to the Perth-based role of operations director, Asia Pacific. Mr Allison joined Xodus as a production assurance manager in 2011. He most recently served three years as the company’s general manager in Scotland. His past oil and gas experience includes process engineering roles with MSi Kenny, Pöyry, and WorleyParsons.
ABN Group has appointed John Stewart general manager of its Webb & Brown-Neaves and APG Homes brands. Originally from Perth, Mr Stewart returned to WA after a 17-year stint in Sydney where he was most recently chief executive of timber wholesaler Simmonds. Prior to that, he was general manager of sales and marketing at Boral.
Cannings Purple has appointed Carina Tan-Van Baren an account manager. A former journalist at The West Australian, Ms Tan-Van Baren rose to be federal parliament bureau chief for that paper, before moving into public affairs roles in federal government ministries. After completing a law degree, she joined Lavan in 2014 and, until recently, served as a solicitor in the property services group.
Asthma Foundation WA has promoted Ian Craig to chief executive. Mr Craig replaces Samantha Tough, who has left the organisation. Mr Craig joined the not-for-profit as chief operating officer in January 2017, before which he was executive manager, philanthropy and partnerships at Brightwater Care Group. In 2013, he left Anglicare WA after almost 13 years, finishing up as executive general manager, fundraising and social enterprise.
Len Kosova has resigned as City of Vincent chief executive. He leaves the position at the end of September. Mr Kosova has worked in local government for 23 years. Before taking the helm at Vincent in 2014, Mr Kosova was director, planning and sustainability at the City of Wanneroo for five years. He also had three years as director, planning and sustainability with the City of Gosnells.
