Peninsula to open

NEGOTIATIONS are currently underway among key stakeholders to make the Belvedere Peninsula accessible to tourists and locals.

Included in the discussions are CEO of the South West Development Commission Don Punch, Mayor of the City of Bunbury John Castrilli and CALM.

A feasibility study is to be carried out to look at the possibility of building a suspension bridge between the peninsula and Turkey Point.

South West Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Rolf Stene said the bridge would provide pedestrian access to the estimated 2,000 hectares that make up the peninsula.
