Peloton WorkReady turns workforce gaps into global gains

Peloton WorkReady is helping reshape Western Australia’s skilled workforce and alleviate ongoing shortages by connecting companies with qualified, dependable workers from overseas.

The company has placed more than 12,000 skilled workers from the Philippines over the past 20 years, helping upwards of 1,000 businesses across the world to fill gaps in their workforce.

Guided by a hands-on, people-first approach to ethical recruitment, Peloton WorkReady supports clients through each step, from identifying qualified candidates to managing visa applications and onboarding.

The result is a stronger, more reliable workforce that empowers businesses to take on more projects and grow with confidence.

For Explorex Caravans, a custom caravan designer and builder, these outcomes were precisely what Peloton WorkReady was able to provide for its business.

Explorex Caravans came face-to-face with a skills shortage after rising demand for experienced cabinetmakers and welders began to outweigh local supply, putting pressure on operations and delivery timelines.

Peloton WorkReady worked closely with the company to understand the intricacies of its needs before sourcing eight skilled tradespeople through its Philippines team.

Peloton WorkReady supported the workers through the entire process of moving to Australia, from assessments to visa applications and onboarding.

“We’ve had these guys for over twelve months now with only ONE sick day reported in that period,” Explorex Caravans managing director Greg Ferguson said.

“They are very considerate, happy and positive staff, and have improved our workplace culture immensely with their pleasant personalities.

“Their quality of workmanship has also helped propel our caravans to the next level.”

The positive impact on workplace culture is a benefit of hiring overseas skilled workers, as these people are often highly dedicated and reliable.

These values can inspire existing staff to elevate their performance and work ethic, and an example of this culture shift was within the workforce of interior designer and builder Della Vita.

The company offers kitchen, bathroom, and laundry solutions and has worked with Peloton WorkReady to onboard several skilled cabinetmakers from the Philippines.

Della Vita general manager Adam Clark said the decision to recruit internationally had exceeded the company’s expectations, leading to overwhelmingly positive outcomes.

“The Filipino tradespeople who joined Della Vita have consistently demonstrated high levels of craftsmanship, reliability and professionalism,” Mr Clark said.

“Beyond their technical ability, they’ve brought a strong sense of dedication and teamwork that has enriched our workplace culture.”

It is no secret that the construction industry has been facing significant workforce shortages in recent times, and roofing company TRSWA has not been immune to the challenge.

When demand for roofing solutions started to rise, the company turned to skilled international roofers to expand their team, with the help of Peloton WorkReady.

TRSWA general manager Loulou Atip said the craftsmanship, dedication and strong work ethic of their Filipino roof plumbers had a lasting impact on the company’s projects and workplace culture.

“They’ve integrated seamlessly into our team, building strong relationships and contributing to a collaborative, respectful work environment from day one,” Ms Atip said.

“Beyond their technical skill and professionalism, recruiting from the Philippines has also provided tangible financial benefits for our business.

“It has helped us meet growing demand efficiently, reduce turnover and ensure a stable, high-performing workforce. This partnership has been a win-win for both TRSWA and for the workers.”

Loyalty in the workforce is invaluable, particularly in the hospitality industry, and it means everything to family-owned restaurant Cicerello’s.

The business was established more than 100 years ago and has grown to employ 250 people across its hospitality operations.

Cicerello’s started recruiting offshore to fill gaps in management and kitchen operations in 2007 and now, skilled Filipino workers make up 10 per cent of its workforce.

Partnering with Peloton WorkReady made the overseas recruitment process more seamless, according to Cicerello’s director Nick Unmack.

“Their presence in the Philippines and hands-on approach in recruitment have helped us find honest, hardworking, and loyal staff who align with the values we uphold in our business,” Mr Unmack said.

“Over the years, we’ve learned that having the ability to trade test candidates and work with a partner who has people on the ground to screen and prepare applicants is essential.

“We’ve been so pleased with the results that we keep going back to Peloton when we need new talent because we know they deliver.”

Mr Unmack said some of Cicerello’s earliest recruits still work for the company 18 years later.

“This kind of loyalty fosters a sense of community and family that’s vital in the hospitality industry,” he said.

Peloton WorkReady strictly adheres to anti-modern slavery principles and never charges workers any recruitment or placement fees to come to Australia.

This ethical approach not only upholds the dignity of skilled workers but also builds trust and long-term commitment, and it is one of the key reasons why Peloton WorkReady clients continue to benefit from a loyal, dedicated workforce.
