Perth-based Peet has confirmed its appointment by the state government as the developer for the Brabham housing project near the Swan Valley.
The project comprises a 220-hecatre site in Brabham, about 22 kilometres from the CBD, and could potentially yield more than 3,000 dwellings plus schools, neighbourhood shops and recreational areas.
Peet was named as preferred developer for the project in July last year.
In July, the company also said it was planning a joint venture partnership with Perron Group to jointly develop the project.
Managing director Brendan Gore said the project increased the company’s exposure to the growth in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs.
“The Brabham project represents an expansion of Peet’s ongoing strong relationship with the Department of Housing, which now operates within the Department of Communities, an expansion of our funds management/joint venture business and importantly increases our development pipeline in the important north-east growth corridor,” he said
Peet is ranked second on the property land developers list in the BNiQ Search Engine.
Shares in Peet were down 0.76 per cent at $1.31 each at 1pm AEDT.
