Perth headquartered oil and gas producer Amadeus Energy Ltd has appointed Australia's former Ambassador to the United States, Andrew Peacock, as company chairman.
Perth headquartered oil and gas producer Amadeus Energy Ltd has appointed Australia's former Ambassador to the United States, Andrew Peacock, as company chairman.
Current chair Robert Scott will continue to serve as deputy chair, and remain a director of the company.

WA-based oil and gas producer Amadeus Energy (ASX: AMU) is pleased to announce the appointment of The Hon Andrew Peacock AC as Chairman, effective July 1st 2007.
The appointment is a significant milestone for the company, as it moves to bolster its US-based oil and gas reserves as part of its strategic growth in the energy sector.
Amadeus Chairman Robert Scott said Mr Peacock had first class business, legal and financial credentials and would be a major asset to the Amadeus Board.
"Andrew has a strong understanding of, and connection with, the business community not only here in Australia, but also in the United States, which is where Amadeus' primary oil and gas assets are located," Mr Scott said.
"His involvement with Amadeus will help open new doors for the company, allowing us to expand our business and meet our strategic growth plans.
"Andrew is a great fit for the organisation and we are very pleased to be able to attract to our Board people of his commercial calibre," Mr Scott said.
Mr Robert Scott will remain a Director and Deputy Chairman.
Mr Peacock was President of Boeing Australia until February this year and previously served as Australia's Ambassador to the United States from 1997 to 2000.
Prior to that appointment he spent twenty-nine years in the Federal Parliament and during his Parliamentary career, he held eight Ministerial positions, including Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Industrial Relations, and Minister for Industry and Commerce. He was also Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Treasurer. Mr Peacock is a graduate of law from University of Melbourne.
