The Public Transport Authority of WA has awarded Metronet rail contracts to Calibre, RJV and CFC Group-owned Cape.

Professional services group Calibre won a $3.5 million contract as an independent safety assessor for the Metronet railcar project and the Bellevue depot project.

Calibre competed against four other companies for the work, which involves ensuring the two projects delivered by the PTA meets compliance requirements.

The project will be delivered by February 26 2024 with an option to extend to February 26 2025.

Balcatta-based RJV secured a $1.8 million Metronet contract to undertake bulk earthworks and minor road works for the Yanchep rail extension project.

The work is to be completed by August 18 2020 or by August 18 2021 at the latest.

One other company made a submission for the work. 

The PTA selected Cape (owned by CFC Group), over two other companies to relocate a main cable route at Bayswater station and turnback.

The contract is worth $1.2 million and must be completed by May 26 2020.

The work involves relocating communication cables on the Midland line between Meltham and Ashfield stations to accommodate the Bayswater station upgrade projects amended track layout.

Bayswater station will become a key Metronet precinct, linking the Midland line, Forrestfield-airport link and the Morley-Ellenbrook line.
