PR triumphant in debate

The world’s squillion dollar public relations juggernaut is resting easier this week after squashing the ill-placed notion: “We don’t need public relations when we’ve got marketing”.

WA’s PR Institute took on WA’s Marketing Institute in a three-a-side debate at the Wentworth Plaza. The winning team’s women-dominated forcefulness (they even presented some facts) blitzed the opposition of Geoff Soutar (an exec dean at Edith Cowan), Paul Davis (a Coke man) and John Chadwick (a TAFE general manager).

Chairman J Barrey Williams (from props boy to TV boss to his own JBW Enterprises) in purple shirt and bow tie made the loudest statement.
