Otoc secures surveying contract

Local contractor OTOC has won a contract to provide surveying services to a joint venture that is building a light rail route in Sydney, with the value of the deal undisclosed.

Otoc will provide surveying services to Acciona and its partners in the ALTRAC Light Rail consortium, which has been selected by the New South Wales government to build the $2.1 billion, 12-kilometre long light rail.

Otoc will carry out the work through its Sydney-based subsidiary, Geo-Metric Surveying, which it bought in November last year for $12 million.

The subsidiary provides engineering survey solutions across rail, road and port projects.

Work under the contract has commenced and is due to be completed in mid-2018.

Otoc chief executive Simon Thomas said the contract win was testament to the company’s reputation as a premium provider of surveying solutions.

“Geo-Metric has a wealth of experience and expertise in infrastructure surveying that makes it ideally qualified to support the delivery of this important transport link,” he said.

Otoc shares were 2.8 per cent higher to 18 cents each at 10am.
