AN online service has been introduced to allow company auditors and authorised audit companies to comply with some new and existing reporting requirements that have come from the Corporate Law Economic Reform Act.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has created a secure portal on its website to make it quicker and simpler for auditors and authorised audit companies to lodge specific forms as required under the Corporations Act.
The fees for lodging an annual statement in an electronic form are also much lower than those for lodging the statement in the traditional way.
Auditors and authorised audit companies can use the portal to change or update their details online and it can also be used to lodge the new Annual Statement (Form 912) that is required to be lodged by all registered company auditors from January 1.
Form 912 replaces Form 907: Presentation of triennial statement by an auditor, and will be available in paper online from January 2005.
Auditors and authorised audit companies can apply now for a username and password to access the auditor portal via the ASIC website.
More information is available from www.asic.gov.au/auditorsportal or by phoning ASIC on 1300 300 630.
