Online buying cranks up
ONLINE media buyers are popping up in Perth with Pretzel Logic the first cab off the rank.
Pretzel Logic director Valerie Pretzel said the company began online media buying activities twelve months ago.
“We figured there was an opportunity to cover both ends – web site development and media buying – because our clients wanted somewhere to advertise and many of our other clients had web sites that were good vehicles,” Mrs Pretzel said.
“At the moment, it’s not expensive to advertise online and, on many occasions, we have been struggling to spend our client’s budget.”
Pretzel Logic will move to premises in East Perth this month to capitalise on the area’s growing reputation as the ‘new media village’.
Perth-based Chrome Global formed an alliance last month with Melbourne-based online media buyer Emitch Limited to create an new online media division called Chrome Global Media Buying.
The new company will create and place all forms of advertising including sponsorship packages for both online and conventional media.
Industry sources say the Australian Internet market is expected to surge from $40 million a year to $405 million by 2002.
