A NEW business club, designed to make the most of international awareness of Australia thanks to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, is looking for members.

Business Club Australia is a joint State and Federal Government program. Commerce and Trade Minister Hendy Cowan said the club was a global network linking Australian businesses with overseas firms.

“Already more than 3,000 overseas business people have joined and are using their club membership as a means of finding potential Australian partners,” Mr Cowan said.

He said the scheme was attractive to overseas business as it entitled them to services including:

• Introductions to Australian companies

• Quick referrals to State and Federal Government agencies

• A tailored business visit program with Aust-ralian suppliers

• Access to fully equipped Business Club Australia facilities including a business centre at Darling Harbour during the Olympic Games.
