A NEW business club, designed to make the most of international awareness of Australia thanks to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, is looking for members.
Business Club Australia is a joint State and Federal Government program. Commerce and Trade Minister Hendy Cowan said the club was a global network linking Australian businesses with overseas firms.
“Already more than 3,000 overseas business people have joined and are using their club membership as a means of finding potential Australian partners,” Mr Cowan said.
He said the scheme was attractive to overseas business as it entitled them to services including:
• Direct access to information on Australian supply capability
• Advice on doing business in Australia
• Introductions to Australian companies
• Quick referrals to State and Federal Government agencies
• A tailored business visit program with Aust-ralian suppliers
• Access to fully equipped Business Club Australia facilities including a business centre at Darling Harbour during the Olympic Games.
