Office space at a premium

A PROPOSED $1.2 million office development in West Perth has generated a significant degree of interest from companies searching for office space in prime locations.

The Giorgi Group proposal involves the demolition of a warehouse on the corner of Colin Place and Railway Parade to make way for a series of strata-titled buildings.

Giorgi Group managing director Guido Giorgi said that, in coming weeks, the group would be marketing the site and was hoping to attract tenants and buyers.

“Once tenants have been found for the space, the larger strata titles could then be on-sold to investors,” he said.

“We have not started marketing the development and already there has been interest generated in it.

“We are now talking with potential tenants.”

The strata titles will range in size from 100sqm to 600sqm over the series of two-storey buildings.

Preliminary plans indicate the development will be of an L-shape design, but Mr Giorgi said designs would not be finalised until the end of the marketing period.

Construction is due to start in July.

The 2356sqm site previously was earmarked to be developed into a six-storey mixed commercial and residential building, which included 33 dwellings and retail and office tenancies.

But those plans were shelved when the Giorgi Group bought the site earlier this year.
