Nuheara has been picked as the 2021 company of the year by the United States’ Consumer Technology Association.

The company said in an ASX release today that the association represented 2,200 consumer technology companies in the United States, and organises the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The Perth-based company has developed wireless earbuds that can help people who might otherwise uses hearing aids.

“After we successfully launched IQbuds on Indiegogo in 2016, CES has been a critical landing pad for Nuheara since 2017,” Nuheara co-founder Justin Miller said.

“Launching each new generation of IQbuds at CES has been an important part of our journey and we are thrilled that in five short years we have been named “Company of the Year” by the Consumer Technology Association.”

He said the business’s revenue grew 517 per cent in the 2021 financial year.

The United States represents about 60 per cent of Nuheara’s revenue, while work is under way on clinical trials.

Shares in Nuheara fell 3.6 per cent to be 2.7 cents each at the time of writing.
