Nobel prize for Perth docs

It was fourth time lucky for Perth doctors Barry Marshall and Robin Warren, who were awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine on Monday.Dr Marshall, a clinical professor of microbiology at UWA, and Dr Warren, an RPH emeritus professor, won the prestigious award after revolutionising the way stomach ulcers are treated after experimenting on themselves and proving that bacteria, not stress, was the main cause of the illness. The discovery means that ulcers can be cured with a short course of antibiotics and other medicine.
