No turnaround in sight for Perth house prices

Perth house prices have fallen 7.4 per cent over the past 18 months, making it the worst-performing housing market in the country.

Job losses and slowing migration have pushed prices 3 per cent lower in the past quarter, CoreLogic RP Data's June 2016 Home Value Index shows.

"Housing market conditions in Perth are suffering from reduced housing demand resulting from a sharp downturn in migration and weaker employment opportunities," CoreLogic head of research Tim Lawless said.

Perth prices along with those in rest of WA set to keep falling in my estimation. A drop of 6% for FY17 in Perth houses wouldn't surprise. Buyers can afford to be patient and use low rents to sit on sidelines.
