Renata Paliskis-Bessell has been appointed as chief executive officer of the WA Meat Industry Authority (WAMIA). Ms Paliskis-Bessell replaces acting chief executive Dave Saunders in the position, and will be initially tasked with overseeing the tender process for the construction of a new livestock selling facility in Muchea. She spent the past 11 years with the Department of Agriculture and Food, as director of rangelands in Perth, and manager of the meat program, based in Albany. Prior to this, Ms Paliskis-Bessell was based at Metro Meat, as manager of meat workers and group quality assurance manager. She spent about 13 years with the company.
