High-profile corporate lawyer, Neil Fearis, has joined Minter Ellison as special counsel, having spent the past seven years in boutique practice. Mr Fearis was previously a senior partner with Blake Dawson Waldron, until 1998, when he left to establish Fearis Salter Power Shervington. The firm’s partnership was dissolved 18 months ago, as partners Stephen Power and Simon Salter left to establish West Perth firm Salter Power. Their fourth partner, Jeremy Shervingham, remains a sole practitioner. Mr Fearis will continue to service his existing, mainly resources-focused client base in his new role with Minter Ellison, primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, public company takeovers, reconstructions, capital raisings and corporate governance.
