Former Consolidated Minerals Ltd managing director, Michael Kiernan (above), made headlines last week as he spearheaded a takeover bid for the West Perth-based manganese miner by his new firm, Territory Resources Ltd. Mr Kiernan, who is chairman of Territory Resources, launched an $850 million bid last Wednesday for ConsMin, where he was managing director until June last year. Following the bid, ConsMin directors Andrew Simpson and Allan Quadrio resigned from their positions, citing conflicts of interest due to their involvement with Crawley Resources Ltd and Monarch Gold Mining Ltd. Mr Simpson is a non-executive director of Crawley Resources and Mr Quadrio MD of Monarch, both associated with Mr Kiernan.
