Kim Horne is the new president of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA, following a unanimous vote at last week’s AGM.
Mr Horne, Alcoa World Alumina Australia’s mines manager for WA, has been with Alcoa for 29 years, starting out at the Jarrahdale mine.
He has subsequently been mine manager at each of Alcoa’s WA bauxite mines – at Huntly, Jarrahdale, and Willowdale – and is trustee of PEACH, an Alcoa employee-based charity organisation.
Mr Horne was a CME vice president last year and has been a member of several CME committees.
He is also on the boards of the West Australian School of Fine Wood, and the Dwellingup History and Visitor and Information Centre.
