Newsmaker – James Semmens

Former University of Western Australia research centre director and academic, Professor James Semmens (above), has been appointed inaugural chair of health services research for Curtin University of Technology’s school of public health. From 2002 until this year, Professor Semmens was director of UWA’s centre for health services research, in the school of population health. He was awarded a new investigator research award from the WA Medical Research Council in 2003. Several other UWA researchers from Professor Semmens’ team have made the move to Curtin, including Dr Katrina Spilsbury, Dr Renate Zilkens, Mr Aqif Mukhtar and Dr Antony Clark.
