Department for Planning and Infrastructure director general Greg Martin has been appointed executive director of Western Australia’s Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC). Mr Martin will assume the new role in September, with PATREC’s inaugural executive director, Professor Fred Affleck, leaving the agency to take up the role of professor and director of Curtin University of Technology’s research management systems. Mr Martin has held the director general’s role at the DPI since 2002, and was previously WA commissioner of Main Roads. He is also to be appointed professor in the chair of Planning and Transport Studies at Curtin University of Technology.
