MARK Gibberd has been named the inaugural head of Curtin University of Technology’s Margaret River Centre for Wine Excellence.
Dr Gibberd has a strong research track record on the optimisation of product quality and resource use for horticulture and viticulture.
He has been the team leader of research and commercialisation activities in post-harvest horticulture for CSIRO Plant Industry in Victoria since 2000 and has bee actively involved in aspects of the WA export horticulture since 1996.
Dr Gibberd is also the principal researcher on a CSIRO and Cooperative Research Centre for Viticulture project studying factors influencing water-use efficiency of grapevines.
