New training venture set up

UK-based training provider RGIT Montrose and Benchmark Training Services International have established a joint venture in Perth to service the Asia Pacific market.

Montrose Australia will initially offer major emergency manage-ment, survival, fire-fighting, health and safety training – using RGIT Montrose’s mobile simulators – before extending its services to a complete portfolio of RGIT Montrose’s courses.

It will offer company-specific courses to the entire management of a company’s training program.

RGIT Montrose was formed in May 2000 with the merger of Montrose Scota Training International Limited and RGIT Limited. RGIT Montrose has branches in the UK, US, Trinidad, Tobago and Australia.

RGIT Montrose business development manager Jack Wallace said recent discussions with a number of multinational oil and gas companies had identified a need for the company’s hands-on training throughout the region, extending from Australia north to Thailand.
