TREATMENT at the Cancer Council’s Lymphoedema Management Service is now more affordable thanks to new subsidies funded by community donations.
Patients will be able to save around $22 on the standard fee, which is now $50 per visit. The discount fee for seniors and health card holders is $30, a saving of $18 a visit.
Lymphoedema is the swelling in limbs that results from accumulated lymph fluid when the lymphatic vessels or lymph nodes are blocked or damaged from surgery or radiotherapy.
Around 3,000 patients use the service every year.
