PERTH printing company Pilpel Print has taken a significant step in its business – and also made a major capital outlay – by installing a new $1.1 million printer at its Stirling Street premises. Managing director Richard Pilpel said the new new six-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 press was bought to allow the company to meet market demands head on. “The print environment continues to change. You have to be flexible and adapt to market needs if you are going to remain competitive,” he said. “In Perth we are seeing increased demand for short run work in five colours with a special, so for us the natural next step was to upgrade to a six-colour press.” Pilpel Printing has been in business for 78 years, since being established during the depression, and services both trade printers and the general A3 market in the Perth CBD and surrounding areas.
