Methodist Ladies’ College has announced the recruitment of Marie Perry as its next principal, succeeding Rebecca Cody, who will step down after eight years in the role.

Ms Perry joins MLC as its 12th principal after serving as assistant principal at AB Paterson College in Queensland for seven years, and as deputy principal at Moreton Bay Boys’ College prior to that.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be the 12th principal of the college,” Ms Perry said on her appointment.

“I am deeply committed to ensuring that MLC continues to go from strength to strength and that every student is supported to flourish.

“I am looking forward to developing strong partnerships with the MLC community.”

Ms Perry will begin in her new role from the first term of next year.

Chair of the school’s College Council, Penny Flett, said Ms Perry held extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development, leadership skills and research in innovative education.

“We now farewell Ms Cody with confidence that the college’s commitment to holistic education, to college values, and our focus on implementing our very successful Towards 2025 strategic plan will continue under the new guardianship of Ms Perry,” she said.
