Deborah Pitter has been appointed independent chairwoman of the Potato Marketing Corporation board, replacing Jim Murphy who has held the chair for the past five years.
New additions to the board are grower members Sam Calameri and Andrew Tempra.
Eddy Atchison has been appointed to represent potato merchants.
The new membership will administer changes to the corporation’s operation.
David Sash and Bert Russell will remain on the board to assist with the transition to the new structure.
In July Agriculture Minister Kim Chance announced plans for a new marketing and regulatory system to benefit growers and consumers as part of a review of the Potato Marketing Act.
Changes to the act also included a provision for the board to be reduced from six members to four.
