New opportunity on offer at emerging Murdoch health and knowledge hub

A world-class centre of excellence for health, education and research is beginning to take shape in Perth’s growing southern corridor – and a new release at LandCorp’s Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct (MHKP) means developers and investors have an opportunity to be part of it.

Located just 12 kilometres south of the Perth CBD, the 9.6ha MHKP is strategically located within walking distance of Fiona Stanley Hospital, St John of God Hospital, Murdoch University, South Metropolitan TAFE and the Murdoch train and bus interchange – allowing for a connected, collaborative environment that can foster leading-edge research, innovative ideas, job growth and industry.

Stage 1A is being delivered by leading WA developer Fini Group, which was named as the successful proponent following a competitive tender process managed by LandCorp – a campaign that attracted strong interest from the private sector.

As the master developer, Fini Group will deliver an integrated mixed-use development including a 150-bed aged care facility, super medical clinic and a range of accommodation options, supported by commercial, retail and food and beverage spaces.

The development will also see the delivery of the Western Australia’s first medihotel, with both the medihotel and the aged care facility to be operated by Aegis Aged Care Group. 

The next opportunity at MHKP has now been released, with offers invited to purchase Lot 118 – a 3,438sqm site zoned for mixed use, and earmarked for a minimum six-storey development.

The landmark site is suitable for commercial, office, or general health-related, research and innovation uses, adding to the concentration of world-class health and scientific endeavour at the precinct.

With a high-profile location opposite Murdoch train and bus interchange, and excellent transport links via Kwinana Freeway and South Street, Lot 118 is a significant development opportunity in a highly sought-after emerging hub for health, education and technology.

On completion, MHKP will ultimately be home to 1,200 dwellings for 2,400 residents, as well as health, retail and commercial space to complement the emerging health and knowledge environment.

As part of the broader Murdoch Activity Centre, the precinct will form a key component of one of the largest and most vibrant hubs for jobs in Western Australia, and one of the nation’s biggest health and education precincts.

In delivering this milestone project, the partnership between Government and the private sector will be vital in ensuring we make the most of this connected, knowledge-rich location.
