New merger plans for Emeco

Perth-based Emeco Holdings has gone into a trading halt ahead of announcing fresh merger plans, with Queensland-based Orionstone and Victoria-based Andy’s Earthmovers earmarked as the other players.

The heavy earthmoving equipment supplier expects to return to trading by Friday after making a formal announcement on the merger plans.

It is understood Orionstone and Andy’s Earthmovers will combine their businesses with Emeco.

Emeco shares last traded at 5.3 cents a share.

Emeco was planning to diversify and expand its business through the acquisition of Perth Company Rentco, while also touting merger options with Queensland competitor Orionstone last year, however both deals were terminated.
