WESTERN QBE Insurance has moved to premises in the newly named QBE House, formerly Mt Newman House, next to Cloisters Square. The company has leased 6,100 square metres of office space over six floors in a deal with CB Richard Ellis secured last year. Vacated by BHP Billiton after its move to St Georges Square, the offices have been extensively refurbished. Western QBE is vacating multiple floors of the Wesley Building at 95 William Street and owner the Uniting Church is expected to refurbish the building. NSC Corporate joint managing director Steve Carulli said the company had managed another lease in the building and believed current occupants Dick Smith and Health Services Australia would stay. “After the refurbishment there could be 7,000 square metres or more of space available to lease and rents of more than $250 per square metre could be achieved depending on the finished product,” he said.
