The state government has announced new directors for the Gascoyne, Peel and Pilbara development commissions.

The state government has announced new directors for the Gascoyne, Peel and Pilbara development commissions.

Gavin Robins has replaced Geoff Strickland as director of the Gascoyne Development Commission, while Andrew Ward will take over from Norman Baker as director of the Peel Development Commission.

Terry Hill has been appointed director of the Pilbara Development Commission after having served as acting director since February last year.

Regional Development Minister Terry Redman said Mr Robins was managing director of Sovereign Health Care Australia, and a board member of the Disability Services Commission WA.

"Mr Robins has a background in senior executive and chief executive officer roles and consulting to government and the private sector in aviation and health-related services, including regional organisations," he said.

"Mr Ward was the director of community services at the City of Karratha and has a substantial background in regional and metropolitan local government, and in senior and executive management roles in the corporate and community arenas.

Mr Redman said Mr Hill had a respected background in executive leadership within the regional development and agribusiness arenas in both a government and industry capacity.

"I would like to thank outgoing acting directors Mr Strickland and Mr Baker for their valued contribution to the Gascoyne and Peel development commissions over the last nine and 11 months, respectively," he said.
