New codes

THE new Residential Planning Codes have been completed and will be effective following their gazettal on October 4.

The new codes are more comprehensive than the 1991 codes and include information in relation to streetscape, privacy, mixed use developments and inner-city housing. One of the most significant changes in the codes is a section that clarifies the “ability of a local Government to vary provisions and set out application requirements including the requirement to consult”.

The codes will also require local governments to review some specific provisions in the town planning schemes.

Lennie to WRF

WRF Securities has announced the appointment of Owen Lennie to its burgeoning property syndication division.

WRF managing director Rob Nichevich said the appointment reflected the success of the property division over the past financial year.

The diversified funds manager has already completed three commercial property syndications with a fourth syndication due to be announced later this year.

Mr Lennie, previously the managing director of York Capital Group, said WRF was positioned for strong future growth.
