ST John of God Health Care has announced a new three-year partnership with Hills Community Support Group, with plans to increase support for young people in the Midland area.
St John of God Health Care’s commitment of more than $300,000 over three years will provide residential support for vulnerable young women unable to access stable accommodation, and ensure that young women and their children are supported once they move on from Hills Community Support Group’s Kira House into transitional housing.
St John of God Health Care group manager for youth, Mike Board, said the social outreach and advocacy services aimed to improve health and wellbeing in the community.
“We are really pleased to partner with Hills Community Support Group because they have a proven track record of meeting the needs of local people,” he said.
“Kira House is a vital service for very vulnerable young women and girls who need accommodation and support, which has a similar ethos to our own
Horizon House service. We believe that the case worker position funded as part of this partnership will have a positive impact by empowering young people to have a safer, more independent future.”
