Navigating the Future Forum

Family Business Australia is hosting a forum for family businesses, May 9 at the Maritime Museum, Victoria Quay, Fremantle. Navigating the future course of a business can be a difficult proposition for any owner/operator. Exit and succession plans are vital for the future and family businesses have the additional challenge of dealing with the issues arising from the dynamics of family relationships. The forum will be officially opened by Norm Malborough MLA and attendees will have the opportunity to hear first hand accounts of how successful family businesses have planned for the future. Speaker for the event include: • Nigel Satterley – founder of Satterley Property Group; • Robyn Ahern – Aherns department stores (now owned by David Jones); • Katie Davenport – founder of Katie Davenport "Show Pony" brand; and • Sean Gavin – managing director of Gavin Construction. Two workshops will also be held, facilitated by Wayne Bubb – managing director of Business Thinking Systems and Donella Casperze – PhD, UWA Business School. Registration for this event costs $55 for FBA members and $65 for non members. For more information contact FBA on 9284 0792 or email
