Perth-based NRW Holdings has been contracted to provide more services to Rio Tinto at the mining giant’s Yandi iron ore operation in the Pilbara, in a deal worth $40 million.
In a brief statement today, NRW said it had won a contract to provide bulk earthworks and civil works required by Rio to sustain Yandi.
“The contract is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018,” NRW said.
“NRW will utilise its existing civil construction fleet for the project.”
NRW won a $30 million contract to provide similar works for Rio at the company’s Yandi Oxbow pit, which forms part of the Yandi operation, in June.
NRW shares were 3.2 per cent higher to 64.5 cents each ahead of the close of trade.
