NRW calls halt over contract talks

Mining services company NRW Holdings has called a trading halt of its shares as it negotiates a significant contract variation.

The company said in a statement today that it expects to announce details of the negotiations by the start of trade on Monday.

The volume of shares traded in NRW jumped today with more than 1 million shares exchanged compared to the average of about 500,000 over the previous five trading days.

Shares in the NRW dipped one cent to $2.05 before the trading halt was placed. NRW's share price has surged from 22 cents a year ago.

Speculators suggest the contract variation could be an upgrade.
