Mining services contractor NRW Holdings has secured a $167 million contract with Rio Tinto for work within its Brockman mine hub in the Pilbara.
Under the deal, NRW Civil & Mining will facilitate work at Rio’s Brockman Syncline 1 mine development, where it will be in charge of a number of key facets.
These include a series of construction and drill and blast-based activities, with a workforce of up to 300 people.
The site is also close to a number of nearby construction sites operated by Jules Pemberton-led NRW. These include the Western Turner northern access road and the Brockman 4 to Brockman 2 haul road.
In a statement to the market on Thursday, the company said it was pleased to continue its longstanding working relationship with Rio.
Thursday’s update follows on from news in late-May that NRW’s wholly owned subsidiary, Primero Group, would provide a raft of NPI works at Rio’s Hope Downs 1 operations in the Pilbara, in a contract valued at around $157 million.
NRW shares were up 3 per cent to $3.38 as of 8.10am AWST.
