NRW announces new contract wins

NRW Holdings has won a $32 million contract with Rio Tinto to upgrade access roads to the mining giant’s West Angelas iron ore mine in the Pilbara.

The project is expected to run for 29 weeks and require 120 workers.

The deal was signed under NRW’s five-year framework agreement with Rio, which the companies announced midway through last year.

Meanwhile, NRW said it had also received letters of award for contracts from Ernest Henry Mining in Queensland and Fortescue Metals Group.

The contracts have a value of around $19 million, with works to commence before the end of the month.

At 11:20AM, WST, NRW shares were down almost 1 per cent, trading at $1.80.
